statement of Faith

In the beginning, was the Word (Jesus), and the word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made.
                       John 1:1-3

What Do I Believe

I believe the Bible is the inspired word of God (II Timothy 3:16), making it authentic and relevant to our lives today. Therefore I look to the Bible to tell us who God is and convey who we are. Furthermore, the Bible explains the most important and perplexing questions in life. The following points summarize some  essential characteristics of my faith:

God created everything, and He exists eternally in three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

(John 1:3)

The Bible reveals that we have all sinned and are born with a sinful nature, and we cannot save ourselves. Plus, sin has separated us from God. But God has provided a means of redemption through the Saviour, our Lord Jesus Christ, out of love and mercy.

(Romans 3:23)

The Lord Jesus Christ's deity, virgin birth, and perfect, spotless humanity. Jesus Christ is God the Son, and he came into this world as a man to die on the cross as a substitute for sinners.  (Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 1:18-25, I John 2:2)

Jesus Christ's sacrificial death, we can be forgiven, cleansed of our sins, and justified before a holy God. We can be guaranteed of heaven if we believe in His Son.

(2 Corinthians 5:21)

I believe in Jesus Christ's resurrection. He was raised from the dead and now sits at the Father's right hand in heaven as our advocate. (I Corinthians 15:3-4)

Salvation is the gift of God's immense love which can only be obtained through faith in Jesus Christ's atoning death.

(John 3:16)

Once saved, a person is they cannot lose their salvation. I believe in the eternal security of each believer. (John 10:28-30) including the imminent, bodily return of our Lord Jesus Christ to take every genuine believer home to heaven. This expectation should motivate believers to live holy and fruitful lives.

(I Thessalonians 4:13-17)

Furthermore, I believe in baptism by immersion, which signifies that the believer has died with Christ, buried with Him, and risen to walk in the newness of life.

(Romans 6:4)
