ISAIAH
58:11
The Lord will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.

Looking around, we find ourselves in a world that's turning into a spiritual desert. On the other hand, God provides for his people as they cultivate their relationship with him. This verse gives us hope as we travel through life on earth.
First and foremost, God has promised to guide us constantly. The Psalmist says, "My eyes are ever toward the Lord, For He shall pluck my feet out of the net," Psalm 25:15. On the compass of our lives, the Lord is true north. If we keep our gaze fixed on Him, he will guide and counsel us.
This verse, The Lord will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. Isaiah 58:11 (NKJV) contains wonderful promises and hopes that the Lord will be our guide. The road ahead may be difficult. It could get very dark ahead. You may not know where you're going, but He's with us. He will always lead and guide us. Our G.P.S. is God. He knows where we are at all times and will take us to where we need to go next.
In times of drought, the Lord will satisfy your soul. Spiritual famine is unavoidable. There are deserts to cross in the spiritual life, just as mountain tops and valleys. When we become parched, God sends water to refresh and hydrate us. He accomplishes this with his Word. Scripture repeatedly reminds us of the need to feed our souls with God's Word. "So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord." (Deuteronomy 8:3 NKJV)
The Lord will fortify your bones; Life can tire us down; caused by sickness, aging, or simply going through difficulties and tests that drain our strength. God recognizes this need in our lives and promises to replenish our strength.
There were times in David's life when he needed to be strengthened in the Lord. This can only be accomplished by reflecting on God's Word and recalling his previous promises and provisions. We will be like a watered garden, an oasis in the middle of the desert if we practice strengthening ourselves in the Word. His Spirit can flow through us, transforming us into a brook whose waters never fail.
A well-watered garden sprouts life! Psalm 1:3 promises that the man who delights and meditates in God's law will "He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper."
The prophet Jeremiah stated, "For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit." Jeremiah 17:8. In John 7:38, Jesus promised, "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water."
The reality of God's never-failing faithfulness is that He will quench our thirst and quench our yearning for righteousness. Through the influence of the indwelling Spirit, He will constantly direct us in the right direction and instruct us in everything.
He has left to make preparations for us. He is returning to take us to be with Himself; we will be like a well-watered garden with rivers of living water flowing from it.
We have been freed from the law's curse, sin's yoke, and its dreadful price. And in Jesus Christ our Lord, we have already achieved victory. We are assured that Jesus will never abandon or forsake us and that, He who began a good work in us will finish it. Nobody can take us from the care of our Savior since we are safely held in the Father's grasp. Indeed, we know that we have a blessed hope and an eternal inheritance in Christ, both of which are kept in heaven for us.
Today, ask yourself, in what ways does God satisfy my thirsty soul?
