Isaiah
46:4
And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar (gray) hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.
- BsL
The Lord knew us before we were born because it is He who formed us in our mother's womb. He has meticulously planned every day of our lives, watches over our every action, and faithfully remains with us even when we stray far from Him.
But this word promises us that He is with us not just in our childhood but also throughout our lives, from the cradle to the grave. He is genuinely concerned about us as we enter our golden years - and even into the fragility of old age.
He has made a declaration and a pledge, which should not be taken lightly. He will never abandon us, and He will never change from being His omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. Even if the people around us and the rest of the world are deceitful or forget to keep their promises, He never will.
Even after our hair has greyed, our knees have become feeble, and our faces have wrinkles, the Lord loves and cares for every one of us. When our hands' quiver and our minds grow increasingly confused and forgetful, He will take care of us until He takes us home to be with Himself in heavenly glory, as He has promised: even to your old age I am He, and even to hoar (gray) hairs will I carry you.
Life can be challenging at times. At times, people question how they can ever get through a difficult situation. Individuals may look to different things to give them the strength to keep going. Some of these things may be alcohol, other people, drugs, medicine, spending money, and the list is endless.
God never promised us all happy days, but He promised that He would carry us through all of them, good and bad. We must entrust everything we have to Him. When things are tough, he has the strength and skill to keep us together.
Unlike man-made idols, which are carved by people, set in their places by people, mute, and unable to save, the Lord has been His people's maker, keeper, and sustainer. And He will faithfully keep His promise to carry His people throughout all our trials.
God is the nourishment you need to keep your energy up for this life. Hold onto Him and trust Him. Allow God to take you by the hand and carry you through life's storms.
